Exciting art updates

Hi Everyone,

It's been a busy year in my little shed studio.

I entered the Letchworth Open 2025 and won the Sculpture Prize for my 'On The Edge' piece. Needless to say I was so thrilled !!

Exibiting in St Albans Art Society Summer Exhibition was my next adventure. I enetered six small sculptures and four drawings of St Albans. I am now an active memeber in their new Art Club event which runs every Thursday afternoon at the Charles Morris Hall in Tyttenhanger, St Albans from 2 - 4.30 pm.

On the last Thursday of the month I go to a collage session organised by Herts Visual Arts. It gives me an opportunity to get together with other St Albans based artists. We have a chat and a coffee over making collages of our choice.

I was so excited to be accepted for the Cromer Open 2025 with my ceramic piece, 'On the Edge No 1' and I'll be exhibiting in the lovely Cromer Art Space from the 16th to 31st October 2025. The Cromer Art Space is a community run organisation which is situated on the prom opposite the sea. It's such a beautiful space with amazing coastal views.

I've also been welcomed on the Professional Landscape Year Long Course at Newlyn School of Art, starting this November. It's a series of six weekends based down in Newlyn, Cornwall, and I'll be staying down there at a local bed and breakfast called Panorama Guest House. Which is just opposite the school !!

It should be an exciting year exploring the 'landscape'.

I continue to sell my paintings and drawings in my eBay shop, which is going really well this year. It's a lot of work to keep the stock interesting enough to sell, but I love doing it. Plus I can earn some extra income to help pay for my art courses. As an artist I have always been self funding and I work very hard to do this.

My little shed studio is still my art haven. And I spend many hours in there making and thinking about art from my travels around the UK. This year I have visited Canterbury, Ramsgate, Margate, Cromer, Sheringaham, Weymouth and Mablethorpe. Below is a double page from my Monotone Sketchbook I made this year.

I'm really loving painting with rich black India ink which gives me an instant mark, and captures the flow of the landscape feel. A sense of place !

That's a little bit about this years art events. I'll up date you about my wonderful course down in Newlyn School of Art very soon.

Love,

Ann Marie xxx

P.S. I forgot to say I sold a lovely painting of Cromer Pier (below), which I donated to the Cromer Art Space for their Secret Auction in September of this year. They have annual events to raise money for the running costs of the building etc. It's a great place offering art activites throughout the year for the community and a wider public.
